Tracy Keibler

May 2, 2016

Eden Prairie, MN—The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition has selected Tracy Keibler, Executive Director of ApparentPlan to receive a 2016 President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition Community Leadership Award.  The award is given annually to individuals or organizations who improve the lives of others within their community by providing or enhancing opportunities to engage in sports, physical activities, fitness, and nutrition-related programs.

Ms. Keibler is the founding director of ApparentPlan, an organization dedicated to helping people age with exuberance and vitality – no matter what chronic conditions or life challenges one is trying to manage.  ApparentPlan partners with faith communities from Edina to Rosemount helping people realize their goals of healthy aging.   “Our mantra is ‘Eat Right.  Exercise.  Don’t Fall Down’ and our tai chi and nutrition classes address these three critical components of aging well,” Keibler says.

“Tracy has worked to consistently promote opportunities for individuals to lead healthy lifestyles through physical activity and/or healthy nutrition,” says Shellie Pfohl, Executive Director of the Office of the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition. “Because of Ms. Keibler’s efforts and contributions through ApparentPlan, the communities they serve can embrace a more active lifestyle. Together, we are all working to make our nation a healthier one by helping individuals across the nation live vibrant, vivacious, and productive lives.”

“I have worked with Tracy often over the years,” says Senator David Hann, “She served the State on the Minnesota Board on Aging and has been a passionate advocate for the health and wellbeing of older adults for many years.  This is a well-deserved honor for a gifted and compassionate community leader.”

This year, in honor of its 60th Anniversary, the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition presented the Community Leadership Award to 60 recipients across the country for making sports, physical activity, fitness, and nutrition-related programs available in their communities.
